hi guys
today i finally got my new toy from local post office.
the cpu that i have has a Q705A601 spepping. i whont be using that rediculous tiny heatsing that came with the cpu instead i will be cooling this sucker with water..:D
with out further due here are my first results..

the IHS on this particular chip was really convayed to hell, so i desided to lap the freaking thing..

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t307/Solarfall_photos/DSCN0558.jpg

the max overclock i got with stock voltage was 3074 mhz.. not bad :D

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t307/Solarfall_photos/celeronstock3.074mhz%20superpi%20m1.jpg

lets pump up the voltage shall we.. 3.4ghz with 1.4v. nice

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t307/Solarfall_photos/celeron14v3.4ghz%20superpi%20m1.jpg

that 1.40 is kinda whimpy isn't it.. lets raise the voltage again.. 3.7ghz with 1.55v pretty kwel :D

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t307/Solarfall_photos/celeron1560v3.696mhz%20superpi%20m1.jpg

im far from done :D i will run more benchmarks and do more clocking when i get the time.. until then...

kiwi and PcCI2iminal those timigs are not very good cos there was absolutelly no tweaking done..i was only testing the highest possible clock with various voltages in those first pics. :D
gonna try to do something about those superPi times today.

good god Pt1t it seems that this stepping has some awesome potential.. with right kind of cooling :D

BTW i noticed i weird thing last night.. for some reason the multiplier in my cpu is stuck to 10 and there is no way to change it   ... is this normal..

I am looking forward to getting my 440, by the looks of it this is a good chip to get ;) Would be interesting to see what kind of overclock one could get on it using Ln2?

How about somebody benching say...a P4 lol against one of these new Celerons. The difference in cache/clock speed/architecture makes it so damn confusing when trying to estimate the performance of a STOCK Conroe-L Celeron...

I sell these things at work, and people always ask how fast they are compared to a Pentium 4...I don't f**king know!
