I'm pretty sure that these devices exists but I was wondering a couple of things..

1. Where can I get one?
2. How many various types of EEPROM can it read and write to.
3. Normally when one does a bios flash, they use a flash utility that comes with the motherboard/oem and then get an updated bios file, so when using an EEPROM flasher, how does it write the data to it?
4. How difficult are these things to use?
5. It there a way to attach electrodes or somesort onto a EEPROM that is surface mounted onto a motherboard with out removing the chip?
6. Can you place surface mounted chips into the EEPROM reader/is there some sort of attachment once you've desoldered it?

You can get these from Ebay, most will read all kinds of Eproms and wright to them aswell, unless you are experienced in HEX though this will not be much use to you.
