the asus P5N-E SLI motherboard is built around the nvidia nforce 650i series chipset the motherboard as the name suggests supports nvidia sli however the chipset runs pci express 16x chips at 8x when in sli.

it features gigabit networking, 6ch hd audio, 3gb/s sata raid configurations in 1 2 or 4 configurations. and asus's multiple bios configuration folders.

the board itself is somewhat well laid out the space behind both pci-e 16x cards is clear and not cluttered however capacitors near the conectors for the cpu cooler could be a problem and the large north bridge heatsink is very close to the ram other than that it's well laid

things that could be better northbridge cooling. the northbridge could use an active cooling solution, no cooling on southbridge needs a small heatsink and more room around the mounts for the cpu cooling. i will post benchmarks once i finish the build.

from what i've heard from a fellow gamer clocks a 6600 to 3 ghz easy however this is no mean feat i will get more impressions from him to further update this reveiw

I got 3.9(490x8) stable on my E6400, so it should be able to get close to 500fsb for you.

yeah i know it should be able to hit way more. i may have forgot to mention that that over clock was not my own it was a fellow gamer and to him 3 ghz is more than enough so he probably didn't push it. he will be helping me to oc mine (this will be my first over clock so dont expect miracles)once i get the build complete once thats happens i'll post some benchmarks.

I had the same board. But wasn't to posiItively surprised by it. But I think the CPU was holding the FSB back, because I couldn't even boot at low multi's with 390FSB. Stupid E4300 of mine! Wish you good luck in tourchering you E6600

according to the box this board of mine has native support for a fsb of 1033 mhz providing the cpu has support for it
