ive been having wierd stabilty problems lately... and im trying to investigate but am seeing wierd happenings...

when i have the 1700+ at say 2.2 i get a nature score of 127 fps.. i increase mhz to 2.75 and get 121 fps...

now the only thing is that my score does reflect the mhz increase... but why does my nature score go down?!

MY score keeps going up or down by about 1500points, just randomly.

The 6 fps increase most likely is just how it ran that time. Is this consistent or just a one time thing?

It could be a number of factors. In winXP, at overclocked settings, the system often boots slower and takes longer to open apps, which could affect your system.

The vidcard could be running out of bandwidth, if the ram or hd become volatile.

It could be a lack of AGP voltage.

IT could just be a driver issue.

OC'd too far would be my guess.

Try to run the test at every 100mhz in between (2.3, 2.4, 2.5) and see where the dropoff starts.

Yea your getting errors along the way somewhere, eiter your agp,nb memory controler, cpu, or the memory itself. Is it prime stable at that OC ??

just primed stable for 3 hours no errors

I would try to increase the agp voltage as GVCryan suggested it could be that, I would suspect the nb. What Vdd are you using ?

were both mhz ocs with the same fsb?

I'd say the cpu is oc'ed too far and it's causing errors, try backing down
I've also noticed that nature was very gfx dependant and stress the vid card more than any other part of your sys (correct me if i'm wrong)

yeah both speeds were with same fsb of 210 vdd @ 1.85 which i increased to 1.89 just to see if that was it...

all that was changed was multi.. from 13 down to 10.5

vagp is already at 1.6 and my agp/pci is locked at 66mhz

its just weird though.. i never had this problem a couple months ago.. just after i got the game PlanetSide i started CTD and not being able to play games that i actually started investigating

EDIT: actually now that i look at it.. my highest 3dmark2k1 of 19xxx nature score is actually lower than a score i have around 18xxx with a cpu of 2.66

here is a pic of my top score vs my highest nature

as you can see my top score has better scores in every test except the nature test...

dont mind the extra 256ram... i just took out one chip and tested and still got low score.. also messed with dual channel and single.. not a difference there either

I am guessing your getting an error somewhere in either your OS/driver setup, or your proc is loosing data and refreshing again, since they use a limited form of error correction.

Try a volt boost maybe?
