View Full Version : SLK 800a w/Tornado... Can I still do hardware monitoring?

I wanna be able to OC a bit more. I've finally decided to get a new hsf. The only problem is, I dont believe my Tornado fan has that little connector to the mobo for hardware monitoring. Can someone help me out? Or suggest a different fan? I need something powerful, but I'd like to just use my tornado if possible. Its got a 4 pin molex connector and a 3 pin. thanx!

That 3 pin connector is for RPM monitoring if that's what you mean.

Well I wanna have hardware monitoring so I can monitor the temps.

ok, check the back of the tornado fan, i just bought 2 80mm casefans i moded so i could monitor the fan speed.
i checked the back of the fans and noticed that they had a third solder point with an "s" above it. so i soldered a third cable to that point and connected all three cables to the 3pin connector of an old fan that didnt work anymore. and it works! speed is ~3500@12v and ~1800@7v.
