Umm.. thats a good question.. I wonder if you could get Petras to ship this out to you, but shipping would probably be pretty steep.

I believe Audi and BMW, maybe even VW ru on Pentosine variants. Go to an autoshop, maybe a german specialized autoshop and ask for G11 pentosine (blue) G12 is red I believe.

pepto what? Pepto Bismol is for stomach man.. It's P-E-N-T-O-S-I-N.

It helps transfer heat, and helps to keep stuff from corroding too.

I hope those with little kids and/or pets do not use anything with Ethelyn glycol in it . . . a very bad combination. Not sure if Pentosin has it or not.

AFAIK Pentosin does not help cooling at all from straight water.

Pentosin actually reduces the heat dissipation efficiency of distilled water. It's used for its other properties.

yes, antifreeze has a lower specific heat capacity than water....every liquid does (except ammonia). So almost anything you put in there will reduce the performance.

Reason for using antifreeze is for its corrosion inhibitors and biocide eddects. I currently use Mobil antifreeze for this...which is top notch. The reason i want pentosin is for its lovely blue colour :)

There is an Audi dealership not far from me....i'll have to give them a call :D

@ DarthBeavis. Almost all the best antifreezes are ethylene glycol based. Ethylene glychol is dangerous to kids because of its sweet taste (this makes it excellent for killing ants btw), you can put an agent in it to make it bitter. You can get food grade antifreezes which are (almost) non toxic. They are used in chillers for beer etc and will probably be based on a diol, propan-1, 2 diol or something like that.

In a PC though you are probably looking to put in 10% max and that would be if you were mixing metals with a massive difference in elecronegativity (eg copper and aluminium..might go 15% then to be on the safe side :P). Couple that with the fact its a sealed loop and i cant see a problem.
