I am thinking about either a P35, a P965, or a 650i Chipset mobo.
I think I want solid capacitors but it doesnt really matter that much.
It needs to be sub 150$ so the P5N-e, Tforce P35, and P965-s look good.
Any suggestions?

I will be running a
L629A 6 B2 E6300 and Ultra 120 Extreme

Forget 650i if you want 500+FSB stable. P35 should be nice (y)
For example Gigabyte P35-xxx

Yeah, I kinda need over 500 stable, e6300 has a 7x multiplier, but the tforce P35 is 115$, and if it overclocks as well as the tforce P965 it would be a great deal.

How much costs Gigabyte P35-DS3R in your country?
Or maybe Gigabyte P965 series...

The DS3R is 140 at newegg.

head over to rebelshaven to look at the testing on the biostar. looks like 500fsb may be a challenge depending if you get a good board or not.

Where is the link? I only saw some pictures. I hate to be in Florida and have someone point to Ohio and say just head north.:(

I found it, How about the IB9, is it good? It is 73$ after a rebate lol.

Well, I mean the board must not be bad, its an ABIT, also there is a v1.3 DS3 for 99$ or a S3 for 99$

The IB9 barely makes it to 450, nevermind 500.

I don't think it's possible to run a rig at 500FSB 24/7, seems the guy is on a budget here and ain't gonna add extra cooling or whatever to the mobo... 500FSB is nice to play with but not with cheapo mobo's and surely not warranting long longetivity... set ya goals a bit more realistic mate 400-450fsb is doable 500 is over the edge...

I don't believe 500FSB 24/7 is unrealistic with the P35 chipset. The P5K vanilla should do it with ease. I know my Abit will but it costs a little more than he is willing to spend perhaps. Hell, my DFI Infinity P965-S will do it with only a slight bump in NB voltage and temps are fine.

first of all is the CPU capable of running 7x500?
or is it just wishful thinking?

Refer to this for max fsb:

("In limited testing with the E6600, we were able to hit a 576 FSB on the ASUS boards, 514 on the Gigabyte board, and 508 on the MSI board with the latest BIOS releases.")

Asus still seems to be the way to go for highest FSB.

i have two Gigabyte S3's, 1 running at 532 x 7 and the other at 529 x 7. they've been running at that FSB for about 4 months now. not very useful input on my part but whatever :p:

Well if you start watercooling stuff and adding extra fans I can state that eg 450fsb can work 24/7 but if you don't (air cooling only) you will end up in RMA heaven for sure and then peep start complaining they had a bad board...

And 4 months is nothing is it, I'm talking about a year 24/7 usage folding or whatever...my P5W started degrading after 6 months at 400FSB at 1.55 MCH with my E6400... and so did many other boards or why did we swap them ? ...

It's not because EVA2000 runs 500FSB or Hipro5 even higher that we can obtain those speeds and keep them for daily use...I just want to spare the kiddo the heartache if he cannot reach his goals... not all mobo's do 500FSB easily plus also not all CPU's
