Would somebody please help me to pick the water CPU block for 775 cpu core 2? Storm still good the fisrt pick or else? Thanks:confused: :help:

well a bowed Apogee GTX will currently outperform the D-tek Fuzion..but there is supposeldy an accelerator "nozzle" in development that may make the Fuzion perform better

But a Bowed GTX is best at this time...please note that the the top of a GTX is made of Aluminum but has "military grade" annonization to protect the mixed metal issue...I am not bringing this up to start a discussion on this issue as it has been beaten to death around here...but the OP may not know this and deserves the information

Please note I do not own either block but have read ad nauseam

I am leaning toward purchasing a GTX and will continue to use Zerez/Pentosin for the anti-corrosion needs/protection

You will find the general consensus is that both the Apogee GTX and Fuzion are king of the hill right now. In general, people recommend the Fuzion for multi-block loops (due to it's very low restriction) and the GTX (with bowed base) for dedicated loops (it has been reported to perform 1-2 deg better in such loops).

D-TEK Fuzion. Unless you want to crack your mb trying to get the aluminum gtx to perform better. Stock for stock the gtx gets owned! :cool:

Fuzion is the best block overrall. It's the best balance between performance and convenience (less restrictive, no bowing, backplates etc). If you are looking for absolute best performance under specific conditions the GTX may take the crown.

I still like the storm for dual core chips. If it were quad core, I would use something else. Yes, the storm is a flow killer, but once you hold it in your hand, the quality of it compared to the Apogee speaks for itself.

I know it is shallow, but I like the solid build of the Storm. The Apogee seems cheap in comparison due to the injected molded top ans thinner copper base.

I am going to keep on using it until > dual core chips or until they all get back into the center again.

There we go. Finally something we agree on. That's the most accurate answer so far.

GTX and D-Tek Fuzion perform pretty much the same, except the GTX will shine under certain circumstances such as dedicated loop, more flow, bowed base. However, in the Quad arena, the GTX wins.

I own both blocks and on my C2D's and various remounts, both are within 1C of each other after various remounts. I am NOT bowing the my GTX.

If you just want a no nonsense block that is just simply "plug and play" without worrying about anything, get the Fuzion.

I need to learn more about Fuzion and bowed Apogee GTX . I guess the storm no longer is a KING on the ROAD ( Correct me if I wrong). my CPU will Quad core....
So GTX or Fuzion:down: :up: :confused: :confused: :eek: :eek: :help:

if compair between Storm and them... what is the score?? Thanks

I am setting up a Koyo Car Radiator plus two blocks. Iwaki 30RZ will be the Heart of this loop.

One will definitely be a Fuzion, High flow, one of best performers. For mostly because of its high flow. Since my mighty Car radiator will kill flow even with 36ft of Head.

Its all up to your needs.

I have done extensive testing of both blocks. Unbowed, the GTX gets it's ass handed to it by the fuzion. Bowed, the GTX is ~1.5C better on a dual core. The storm (sad to say) is some ~5c behind the fuzion. Lastly, with a bowed and nozzled fuzion, it spanks ALL. By some 2C.

My testing is done on a 6600 Conroe... with IHS. I would guess that ~90% of folks are using dual core conroe as well.

I have the Fuzion, but you can't go wrong with either block Fuzion or GTX. Some may argue which one of the two is better, but no one seems to argue there's any better than those two.

I believe Ranker hit the nail right on the head in regards to which one fits which design.

Well, Guys I guess.... I will buy the Fuzion for now so ...I don't have to go through all the bow for the Apogee GTX Extreme block.

Too sad for the storm...still look like brand new.

I am using a CM stacker 810, upgrade from my Thermaltake armor to fit the pump inside. I am just going to attach the Radiator to the side of the Stacker.
It wont be an Eye sore its a very pretty Radiator (Gloss Paint).

I'll have pictures for the rest of you guys. ^^

I don't know? maybe the same sane person who posts at a place that is considered sane to stick a big copper pot on a CPU and pour LN2 in it. Also its not permenetly bowed no matter what. Given some patience I have taken the bowing out of copper bar stock before.

The Apogee Gt performes only a few C less that the GTX and is a lot cheaper, so have it in mind too.

Anyhow, I could care less about wasting a 75 dollar block on a 400+ dollar quadcore. Its not like im going to get rid of it anytime soon.

Cathar hates bowing because he said we shouldnt have to do it. It also limits the block on the S775 platform. I agree with him 100%, and until he makes a G8 that will pwn on Quadcores:

THE APOGEE GTX is CURRENTLY THE KING BOWED. There is no arguement and NO REMATCH. And Dont bug scott with anymore noob questions. This has been answered 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000000000x on this forum.

If you want to face off with me and my Q6600 against my GTX setup with d-tek fusion, You are more then welcome as long as YOUR NOT ON SUB AMBIENT.

PS, your going to get SPANKED hard:

My X3220 would keep my loaded quad @ 1.45Vcore real at 51C MAX loaded.

When its noon time in my room and a bit warmer, the cores never break 60C.


This Q6600 is a different story. She gets a bit hot, but i think its because i havent lapped her yet. :]



Lastly, i have both d-tek, GTX, Storm, Mp-05 SE, TDX Silver edition <---- *sigh* it sucks if you wondering and i paid too much for it :\

according to people that ran tests on it.

the S939 was not intended to have a bow block. Infact i think my storm may even kick my apogeeGTX's butt if i hacked the ihs off the S939 and fliped it against he GTX.

but I wonder, why socket mechanism has something to do with it.... I think, if I apply enough pressure, it will work just the same???

what should I do, buy a new one???

it takes a few days for the bow to perm set. So hurry and unbow it. My block was fine even after 1 day of bowing

Then, I thought, may be I can assembled it inside-out, to use the oversized o-ring to "un-bow" the base plate???

I tried it and it works!!

Now do you see why I don't bow my GTX? I swap parts between my 4 systems at home depending on my mood and if I bow my GTX, it's basically locked into a 775 machine permanently. I won't be able to use it on my AM2 or 939 sockets somewhere down the line. As "xtreme" as I may be sometime, i'd like to be able to reuse components.

Once you bow your GTX, there's no going back.
