Hi all,

I just noticed that almost everybody with the KX7 and a fs towards the roof is running their system at Fast or Ultra Decode.
My wont even boot at 186 Fast so i have to use 198 and normal and that is my 3dmark record of 13200.
Would Fast or Ultra change things alot?
Can anyone that runs his system at around 195 please post a picture of a 3dmark at both Normal, fast and if possible ultra?

That way, i will know for sure if i am cpu drowned....

Cheers!

I just did a lil test for you

KX7 10x197, 256 Samsung PC2700, Radeon 8500 128mb Default GPU/Mem

Normal Decode: 7515
Fast Decode: 7546

Not really as much of a difference as I thought it would be.

I tested it too @ 184 FSB though.
With normal decode I got 9822 points (grfx non OC'd), with fast 9867 and with ultra it made it to 9934.
So in the end it does make a difference, though be it a small one.
But once your FSB is like 3MHz beyond the cpu decode limit, the higher clock compensates the decode function.

On my system I can run ultra setting up to 185MHz, fast goes to 188 and from there i have to set it to normal.

As far as I know, this setting changes the fast cpu address out decode setting(reg 97, bit 1) when you go from fast to ultra.

Is it possible to alter the registry in wpcredit for this?
Now that would be something!!

[Treblig] - You generally find this option in the Abit SOFTMENUIII(tm) Bios, where you set all the cpu paramteres. It has been present since the KT7 range of mobos as far as I know (can't ever remember it being there on the KA&-100, perhaps int he later bios they released, but not in the original batch of bios)
As far as what you'll have in the Bios of your FIC board, from what I've seen of them, not a lot... you'll probably find you'll be able to get your 3dmark score a lot higher by changing to a more "reputed" brand of mobos as then you'll have all the tweaking options in the bios....
