God damn it! It took me ages to figure out what was stopping my new system from booting properly, in the end it turns out to be the £100 SubZero4G, I think it was because it wasn't reporting any CPU fans speed to the BIOS, at least, that's the only thing I can think it could be.
So, now I have the stock Intel HSF and so far I'm a-ok, just formatting my 120GB SATA HDD ready for XP :)

But sheesh! That SubZero has been driving me nutz for hours!!!!!

Just stick any fan other than the subzero on it. anything that's 3 wire with a sensor.

I dont see how that subzero is going to do much but dump a lot of heat in the case. And how can it be quiet. The swifty tec air setup is loud as hell. But does the job.

The SubZero only uses an 80W pelt so you shouldn't really expect good cooling out of it anyway.

The SubZero only uses an 80W pelt ???

Guess that might cut it on my Northbridge!!! hehe. $119 is steep though for the price.

Yeah, but mine didn't work at all!

edesignuk go into your BIOS, under PC Health Status, disable the Shutdown When CPUFAN Fail. That should allow you to use the TT SubZero.

I'm using a Swiftech MCW5000-PT and I have nothing attached to my CPU fan header. :)

The subzero (what a misleading name) is a good idea but it's not really practical

That thing is so weird. What is the purpose of the PCI cards? Is that where the pelt draws its power from?

The pci mesure the dew point and make sure that the temp never goes below, and i think it also gives the current to the pelt

So it basicly gets rid of the need for insulation while subtracting performance...

Exactly, that's why air cooling is "enough" for it

I remember a while ago when they first announced it and we thought the pci card was the actual pelt, so that one side got cold and one side got hot. We couldnt figure out what the hell was going on or how it would help...
