I read claims that the OCZ products labeled "Titanium" are recommended when you want more reliability. Is that an official OCZ policy and backed by technical measures, such as more extensive testing?

In general, does OCZ have different levels of testing or other reliability enhancements for specific products?

When first introduced on the DDR1 line, Titanium offered our best warranty. Advanced replacement if there was ever any trouble and yes we tried to target at the people who wanted 24/7 reliability and 0 downtime if issues occured.
Titanium no longer carries any special warranty and is reserved for "specialty" products (Titanium Alpha VX2, Titanium with EPP offering 1T operation on 590 chipsets, the new Titanium AM2 kit)

Typically it goes like this in regards to DDR2:
Value - just what it says, Jedec specs at given speed grade, no heatspreader, no EVP, etc.
Value Pro - basically the same as Value, but with a Heatspreader.
Gold - Above (or below depending on how you look at it) average timings at a given speed grade, EVP for Voltage.
Platinum - Best timings at a given speed grade, higher EVP many times.
Titanium - Equal or better timings to Platinum in the select products offered in the line, sometimes slightly higher EVP.

The whole system has evolved...Gold used to be for Intel and Platinum for AMD 2(ish) years ago, with DDR1, then we kind of broke away from that and moved to the Platinum being the best in each speed grade and any of the lines usable on both platforms.

How about SOE? Is that somewhere below Gold, or between Gold and Platinum, or Platinum and Titanium?
