I have a QX6700 @ 2993mhz and load temps are core#0 42c / core#1 42c / Core#2 37c / core#3 39c why am i getting uneven temps is this normal testing with coretemp 0.95 and my cpu waterblock is a Swiftech gtx i have mounted it several times a reapplyed the thermal paste would getting a d-tek fuzion cpu waterblock give me even temps on the core?

Thats pretty normal

well since the quad cores are two separate C2D dies put on one chip It could be that one is not in the best area of cooling for the water block. But it could be lots of things. Bad IHS contact using those cores less.

yep thats pretty much the only thing you can do to even try to get the cores to show even temps.. personally i wouldn't bother since the difference is not that big.. i had one opteron witch had 15 degrees difference between the two cores.. popped the IHS off and the cores showed the same reading.

even with lapping the temps will differ slightly.

If you search for Redcorn's mounting technique on the quad, he goes through in detail how you can even out the core temps by adjusting the mounting pressure on each of the four mounting posts on a Fuzion/GTX. I'm sure the same technique applies to any block.
