I'm doing a build for a Video editing / 3D-rendering / Gaming rig, and I need a good 2x2GB kit.

Right now I'm having trouble choosing between these two:

OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Upgrade 2GB Module/4GB Kit - $300 CND (http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_6400_vista_upgrade_2gb_module_4gb_kit )

OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Performance Gold 4GB Dual Channel - $330 CND (http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_6400_vista_performance_gold_4gb_dual_ channel)

Corsair XMS2 DHX TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX 4GB DDR2 - $345 CND (http://www.corsairmemory.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX.pdf)

The only real difference is the Cas Latencies, 5-6-6-15 versus 5-5-5-18.

Any help would be appreciated.

This will be going in with a Q6600 and ASUS P5W-DH-DLX mobo, if it matters.

60 views, and no one on XS has anything to contribute?
Come on, I know there are some pros here, don't be shy.

Any particular reason? Or just "Corsiar"?

If you can afford 4gb of DDR2, you get corsair.

Simple really.

I'll be getting 8 gigs, but I'd really like to know why Corsair is so blindly preferred over OCZ. Any elaboration on the matter would be very insightful, come time to build a render farm.

What actually defines how good ram is then?

Corsair has the best latencies out of those kits

1st OCZ: 5-6-6-15

2nd OCZ: 5-5-5-18

Corsair: 5-5-5-15

that about sums it up i think...

Their Website (http://www.corsairmemory.com/products/xms2_dhx.aspx) says "5-5-5-15", but their Data Sheet (http://www.corsairmemory.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX.pdf) says "5-5-5-18"

OCZ = Lifetime warranty + voltmodding = covered.

They are all good ram, the corsair just has better latencies
