Should have the rest of my parts in tommorrow... Here's what I'm working with.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
CPU Heatsink: Thermalright, Inc. Ultra-120 Extreme
MB: ASUS P5K Deluxe (P35 Bearlake)
Video Card: EVGA Geforce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI-E X16
Ram: Mushkin 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 4-3-3-10 @ 2.2 - 2.5V
HD: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA
PSU: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad 750w
Case: Lian-Li PC-7B PLUS II Black Aluminum Mid-Tower Case w/Window
Case Fans: 2x Scythe Minebea NMB Silent IC Series 120mm Case Fans.
Fan Controller: ZALMAN ZM-MFC1
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate DVD - Retail (32-bit & 64-bit)

My question... I have not built a machine since I built my P4 2.4C rig. It's been running solid at 3.125GHz for the last two years.

But things have changed... I'm trying to figure out the dividers and multipliers etc I need to use with my new machine.

What are my options for running my RAM at 1:1? What should I be aiming for assuming I got a decent overclocking CPU?

400x9 ; is that too obvious? :hehe:

450x8

or 500+ x7 with some ratio

nice h/ware you got there; hope you get a good chip.

2.4GHz to 3.6GHz?

What % of people are getting that kind of OC? I would be happy if my E6600 does 3.2GHz!

yeah well; you might get lucky...3.6 isnt too much to expect...my chip doesnt really like it that high so i settled for 3.4

bios can affect it..

p5k deluxe should be a really good chipset for high fsb's so you've got a good board....i really dont know what to expect from current e6600's.

3.2 would perform very well anyway....400x8 your ram at 1:1 ;)

actually i havent kept up on the p5k deluxe but there are a few threads still active for that topic at the moment...have a search ...http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=144199&page=8&highlight=p5k+deluxe

About the overclock, you won't know until you try it. Your chip might do 3ghz (most do), it might to 3.4ghz, or it might even go higher.

Matter of luck.

While testing, keep your RAM / FSB 1:1. Makes things easier.
