Is Masterkleer 7/16" ID 5/8" OD tubing the same as Tygon 7/16" ID 5/8" OD when it comes to bend radius and reistance to kinking?

I know Tygon is better quality, more expensive, bla bla bla... but is there any difference in bend radius with these two?

Yes. Tygon 7/16" has a 1-3/8 inch bend radius. It is superior.

MasterUnkleer has a 1-3/4 inch bend radius. See a difference?

How much is that extra 1/8" radius going to matter though? IMO not enough to warrant spending 6x more for it ;)

Oh, and my masterkleer is crystal clear.

not really...

tygon 3606 is a lot clear then masterkleer can ever hope for.

the tube going from res -> pump -> rad is tygon.

The rest masterkleer. But sparky your still correct, its not enough to merit a 6x price tag on it. However on my RD-30 i had no choice but to use it, or some generic 1/2ID tubing.

If you think that you are just lying to yourself. Masterkleer is worse than rhino dung.

Hmm my masterkleer is clearer than that. Maybe it varies by batch. Oh well, in the end both tygon and masterkleer cloud up anyway :p:

nikhsub1, I'm not blind

Woah Sparky. Time for that geritol !! That's some real presidential fuzzy math there :)

3/4 minus 3/8 = 3/8 .. not 1/8 :D

hehe... yeah sparky i remember masterkleer being a lot clearer a while back ago.

but lately, they havent been so super clear. But i still use it, because i like to play with my loop a lot. and

50 feet of masterkleer = 15 feet of tygon

thats a big difference.

Doesn't really matter. Even if it's clear now, it won't be 3 months down the line. And this applies to any tubing not named Tygon 2075, 2275, and B-44-3.

Thanks for the link to the stats on the Masterkleer... it's the same as the Tygon 7/16 ID 5/8 OD... the Tygon you linked to is 11/16 OD so I would expect a tighter bend radius on that. I need 5/8 OD though.

Has anyone actually played with both types of 7/16" tubing and seen how flexible it is and resistant to kinking. Specs are one thing, but real experience would be a lot more helpful.

And can we keep this on topic and put aside the debate on what is better or what is clearer, etc... that's not what this thread is about!

I will have some 7/16” ID , 5/8” OD Tygone arriving from Petra's soon that i can post pics of if you like. I can't compare it with anything though im afraid.

The masterkleer sitting in a box in my room is the color of piss, and for some reason I can't bend it anywhere near the 1.75" bend radius figure without making it kink. I shouldn't be complaining I paid 5 bucks for it.

Cheapest place to buy Tygon tubing is www.sidewindercomputers.com he sold me a 25 foot batch of 7/16 tubing for 46 bucks shipped when most places wanted 80 dollars for same amount.
