It is at the very bottom of the threads. When I screw on a barb it covers the lower part of that outlet hole. Why is the outlet hole not centered?

Well I know it is normal - the others I've seen pics of are that way - but I'm wondering why.

Oh, and nice triple post :p:

w00t triple post! :D

This is to prevent te material from cracking, you cant make a hole thats too close to the edge.

It has nothing to do with that...

This is simply the way I designed the top, to keep the outlet angle as shallow as possible. There were other a few other reasons for it but, without really going into it, there's nothing wrong with your top.

Pretty strong stuff then. It looked like a safety measure, thanks for clearng that up I guess. It's great to have the designer this close for questions :yepp:

Petra does it matter in what direction you install the top? Can´t see it does but best to make sure...

Also to make sure the inlet from the reservoir is the top one right.

Is sideways mounting (where the inlet is on the side and the outlet pushes up) out, then?

So long as the pump's inlet is not facing down (since these aren't self-priming pumps), pretty much any orientation is okay.
