seems to be ram related ......
im trying to get stable @ 3700mhz it does not matter if i have the mem @ 800 or 1066 i cant get through 30 min of orthos blend befor pc reboots but i can run small ffts for 5hrs (have not tried longer ) timmings are 5-5-5-15 rest auto (trc 30) im usin 2.15v and have tried as high as 2.2 v and as low as 2.1 with same out come . uping the vcore is no help spi runs with no problems (1m or 32m) with same settings up to 3780mhz as dose 3dmark 05 ... 3dmark01 on the other hand will also cause a reboot at anything above 3720mhz
would it be worth trying a higher vdimm ? any recomendations would be great ! i realy would like to get this squared away as well as get a better max OC for benching where i run into the same rebooting problem dispite vcore being used ... for example i can bench with same setting as below but vcore @ 1.71 and cpu running 3966mhz but any higher and the reboots apear even if i give vcore another bump .
temps 20-21c idle 50-51c small ffts - 40-41c blend load
3700mhz - mem 411mhz - fsb 1645
vcore 1.61 actual
mem 2.150
fsb 1.50
Ht spp-mcp 1.50
mcp 1.6
ssp1.50

Try running your memory at a lower divider. You may just be too high on the CPU speed. You say you tried 800 speeds and that didn't change anything, leading me to believe you have a CPU problem.

If you find the memory voltage doesn't help, I recommend you stay at around 2.2v if you can.

mat8861 thats alot more vdimm then i would care to use even to bench with . I can run those timings up to 3600mhz with 2.150v but loosened them up to try for more cpu speed once i get it stable ill try tighting them back up . although as it is right now i got about the same preformance at 3600mhz with those timmings as i do now at 3700mhz 5-5-5-15 trc22 rest auto .if i can get 3700mhz with say 5-4-4-8 trc10 with 2.25v or less id be happy and i think its do-able as i havent had the need to run more than 2.150 yet and ive done some 32m Super pi runs at much higher speeds with even tighter timmings . (?)
Andy although you may correct about the cpu , i think my problem at the moment may be the chipset flaking out , the funky 7:9 divider im usin or combination of the two .
