I recently upgraded to 4X1GB of Crucial Ballistix and am trouble finding a version of MemTest that recognizes all 4GB. I just tried MemTest+ 1.70 and all it showed was 3007MB.

Any MemTests out there that will work?

Enable memory remapping in the BIOS.

well that was easy. Thanks.

memtest is insanely slow with 4gb in though :(

Just loop Test 5 tbh

I tried memtest test 5 last night with 4GB installed, and was getting 4000+ errors per loop :( I've tried each stick individually and never get a single error. This P5B-D just don't like 4 sticks of ram methinks.

yeah, you'll have to tweak some sub-timings a bunch

and deal with the heat somehow too.. ;)

My P5B-D with bios 0904 and 4x1GB sticks was not stable too (Use S&M for testing te memory/NB, its the best)
When I flash to the newer bios (1201 or something like that) my 4sticks OC good as just only 1stick only.
Problem is the heat, too. When 4sticks are together there are very small room, so fan in top of them is 90% required, 100% if they are with heatspriders.

^^Sory for the bad english

true that

i tested some OCZ kits and Dominators in 4GB configs and 6GB configs

you wouldn't believe me if i told you that the 6GB loop#5 took so long just to get to 1% that i actually thought it froze for a moment or two :shakes:

crazy

P965 wasn't designed for 2GB sticks but they should still work...........

watch your voltage and subtimings.....................OCZ sticks i tested were really sensitive to voltage

I was using 4x1GB sticks. And yes I did have a fan over them. Didn't play much with the sub-timings. I'll be trying moving them to my GA-P35-DQ6 tomorrow and see how they do.

try to switch positions to the sticks (kit-kit ,stick-stick) , i know it sounds strange , but worked for me. My 1st kit Crucial Value 800 in Asus M2N32 needed 1.9 at 4-4-4 to loop memtest , when switched the modules, it needed 1.85! , after some days later i purchased a second kit , 1st try to boot at 433 5-5-5 (the settings i was using with the 2gb) with weak drive, couldnt post at all , flipping this time the whole kits i went from non post to complete stability (i tried the rest combinations placing the sticks and none worked better , so i think ill have to mark numbers in each stick:p)

I'll definately try that If i am having problems with the P35 board.

Wow funny, im having the same problem low....I got 4gbs of 6400C3DF and test 5 is 4k+ errors. Same scenario, lemme know how yours turns out! Maybe discuss getting them working haha, I have been at the timings and voltage like crazy tryin to get em stable.

EDIT: Could it also be an error in Memtest with 4gb on newer mobos and test 5? It runs every other test flawlessly.

My P35-DQ6 handles 4GB fine! running it @ 600MHz 5-5-5-18 right now :D. Too bad I can't get CPU-Z to show memory timings for some reason.
