OS: Windows XP SP2 daily-use, no tweaks, just with closed programs.

How does the 8600 perform vs. a 7900GS?

I have no ideea, I didn't had that board to make some comparisons. :(

But dsaraolu (http://xtremesystems.org/forums/member.php?u=29922) tried to help a bit and posted some results (http://www.roclockers.net/forum/index.php/topic,770.msg7124.html#msg7124) with his 7900GS and overclocked E6400. So I think we can say that 8600GT is slower than 7900GS. o.O
