refurbished r9500

I just bought that refurbished 128mb radeon 9500 from newegg.

I hope the soft mod will work, or atleast it will work/oc well. If not i guess i can take the 15% hit.

Make sure and post your results, im thinking of doing this myself for my lan rig, wonder how good a chance there is of getting it to work.

probably realy low. I am assuming these are the ones people returned that did not work. this card is suppose to oc realy well, so i will see if i can get close to 9700 speeds. If i am not happy 15% of $110 is not so bad i guess.

fillrate 1200 v 2100

it all looked so good. my fillrate almost doubled, but it should have been like 2500...a sign of things to come?

severe checkerboard, flashes in and out constantly, closes after about 20 seconds. complete failure. I would assume since my score in fillrate only went up by about 70% i think that 1 or 2 of the pipelines that i was trying to enable were probably damaged :bananal:

ohwell, great card for my backup machine. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget...$110 great buy.

edit--> which oc'ing bios should i get, warp11's seems to be the most popular. I am going to stick a stock amd cpu cooler on this and oc the hell out of it :D.

hehehe yeah. This gold cooler sucks. I can't oc it very high. I am going to switch out the cooling. put on a stock amd hsf i think.

i ahve that crappy gold cooler, and i get bad artifacts at 330/330. i am going to back it off and see what my exact limit is tomorrow:(.
