erm ... this helps me out nothing what so ever im a n00b all i can do is read and be very confused :S this is my system what can i do to make it run better and get the most out of it ??

hi steve, welcome to XS
your full system details needed here.. especially your cooling and power supply.
on stock cooling dont go to much from default vcore. i think most E6600 can go 3ghz on stock cooling and arround default vcore. just pay attention on the temp . if it gets too hot, try decrease your vcore or change to some better cooling solution...
