I take it that this guide also applies to the AT7, correct? The HIP controller certainly seems to be the same.

Definitely the best and most thorough volt mod guide I've seen. I wish it had been around when I used Gibbo's diagram and couldn't figure out why I could only lower my VCore through my pot. :banana:

Nice work. :) You may want to recommend a dollop of epoxy to tie the wires to the board near the solder point. It's a good preventative measure against snagging a wire and ripping an IC leg off the board.

Randi, The Vmem and Vcore grounds can be common. I also do not have them attached to a ground point on the motherboard (the case works just as fine, but grounding to the motherboard provides a tidy solution).
I've also got a Vmem/Vcore and an Optional VR PCB that plugs into a 3 pin fan header (connected to pin 7, 10, and Vmem pin 3). This PCB is about 15 wide, 25 tall, has a LED light (just to show where it is, and provide illumination), resister contact points to measure what resistance is being put through, and 3 50k trimpots.

Oops, haven't kept track of this for a while.
Thanks for correcting the stuff about the AT7, makes me feel much safer doing a VCore mod :D.

A quickie, cause I'm about to get me some VR's.
You say to get 2 50K Ohm VR's, and one 30K Ohm VR.
But err, what's the 30K Ohm one for?
If I get 2 pot's of 50K Ohm, will it be OK then?
