Yes it depends of facts put on board. I do not want to buy something that is just good on synthetic benchmarks. I like Nvidia G8 but for now I prefer ATI 2X HD models, but all will depend of Price/Performance for me.

If ATI is launching something inferior than its competitor, I just want the price will be also inferior. They were talking about the 2900XT that may cost around at $350 to $450. I just think $400 is just higher than I was expecting around $300.

Actually we need something REAL (LIVE) - no china factory demo or some demonstration at some event, but all we get are NEWS, DETAILS - the usual junk marketing. :slapass:

There is atleast one flaw in the chart. You cant have a windows experience index over 6. 5.9 is the maximum.

40, 120, ?, and 320 eh?

Who wants to bet RV670 is 240? :)

As for the rating, it's been said by the AMD benchmarking dept it will go up in the future. It sounds plausible these products will be certified for that number.

If they perform like 8600 they cant beat 6. Even a 8600GTS wont get 5.9 asfar as I know.

Also, they are purely speculating then. Since they have no clue on how the WinSAT will be changed.

I hope its just DT that made more crap. rather than AMD trying to fool people.

I imagine AMD/ATi works close enough with Microsoft to determine these things, but that being said, you may be right.

I do, of course, expect RV630 to edge out G86, and imagine the different video (UVD)/sound options will also increase the ratings.

UVD+Sound gives 0.0. WinSAT doesnt use that. I know a few MS devs, and we talked abit over this in Vista beta when the WinSAT was changed dramaticly. You can also yourself run the WinSAT with verbose from the command line and see what it checks for ;)

Well then. :p:

What does a rig with a 8600gts score when it is the lowest-common denominator in a system?

edit: Perhaps the check will change when they add the higher ratings?

A 8600GTS scores somewhere between 5.6 and 5.8 i think. I dont have one myself and I only seen scores from an OCed one.

WinSAT wont change in how it acts. Only its limit whenever that will be. Most likely around November ;)

the performance difference wont be too great, but these cards do seem like they will have higher mem and gpu clocks than g84. thing is, these cards are 65nm, and as such, i cant believe the top end card consumes 128w...
