Reuters (http://www.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUSN2532654820070426) reported that Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer said on Wednesday the company’s iPhone is on track to ship in late June.

Oppenheimer also said that the gross margin of 35 percent the company turned in during its most recent quarter was “not sustainable” because component costs are not expected to remain as low as they had been.

“We look forward to shipping the iPhone in late June and are very excited,” he told Reuters in a telephone interview.

No way I'm buying that grossly overpriced garbage. I do like Apple, but this is just form over function taken to a whole new level. I can just imagine how easy it will break.

I think the phone is awesome but there is no way in hell I would pay over $200 for a phone

I would probably just lose it anyway

That phone is going to be way too expensive.

I can see if I didn't already have a Motorola Q, and I needed an iPod, a PDA, and a phone it would be reasonable. But otherwise I wouldn't have the money to justify buying it either.

$600 for less then 1 hr talk time? Hell yea!

I'd still like to see what M$'s "Zune Phone" has to offer.

/me love iPhone. I wonder if Cingular will cover my early termination fee with Sprint if I agree to an iPhone + 2yr contract?

I doubt it. Although Cingular has a lot of money. They spend a lot of money on us at work with rewards and parties and stuff. For those of you that do not know I am a Manager at RadioShack and of course we sell Cingular. Our CEO is meeting with Apple in an agreement for us to hopefully carry the iPhone.

Although the iPhone is only EDGE speeds. It isn't even UMTS. Such a huge disappointment in my opinion there. Although they put so much into this first version. I expect only for future iPhones to evolve on this.

We will be selling AppleTV. It showed up in our system last week. I can't wait to see one in action and hooked up in my store.

I was going to get an AppleTV until the XBOX 360 is coming out with MPEG-4 and H.264 Support as of May 7th. So I have no need for it now. Unless it just totally blows on the 360. Then in that case I will buy an AppleTV at a DISCOUNT! LoL

I have encoded 35 movies so far in MPEG-4 format. They look amazing. 1500kbps for the video and 196kbps for the audio. Average movie size is around 1.2~3GB.
