hi ya,

I want a new system, and def. want to go quad core ( seti crunching,CAD work, encoding etc )

I want this :
Intel Core 2 Quadro Pro Q6600 £367
Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680 £152
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8500 1066MHz SLIDual Channel DDR2 £160
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU £100

2 x Barracuda 500GB ST3500641AS SATA-II 16MB £74

TOTAL £ 927

Will def. be over clocking it (after I get a decent HSF maybe a Noctua or something ) and will look to get every last Mhz out of it . BUT i will only be using air to cool it. I do intend to run SLi but not yet.

can any one suggest a better spec ?

thanks for your help.

No SLI so i suggest a mobo based on P965 so either the Asus P5B-Deluxe or DFI 965

overclocked QX6600+SLi... don't you need smthg more than 620 watts?

well current card is only a 7600 ( in sig ) but plan to upgrade to an 8800 when I can. BTW I don't really want to spend any more cash than is stated on the total build cost. ( will spend alittle more to get the right stuff if needed )

look into the Xeon Quad - 3220 Check that price vs. the Q6600. 105w TDP and should be slightly better binned than Q6600.
