dual monitors

ive just set this up on vista, i gather that nview has all the interesting features, but it is not avaliable on vista yet..

when i open up different programs they seem to randomly open on different screens, but the same application always opens on the same screen,

how do i know which screen a program is going to open on, or more to the point, how is it configured, is it random?,

dont know about nvidia stuff, but with ati/xp if ur running a prog for first time it starts it in monitor #1 (go to display properties to find out which is which); if u close a prog on a diff monitor, it remembers this, & will start that prog next time in that monitor... hope this answers ur question
