Actually, the housing the fittings are part of can come off the pump (unscrew the black ring to get the black metal part off), and as I've done with my D4 and D5, the housings can be swapped (I have a 3/4" barb housing and a 1/2" barb housing). I'm not sure you can buy just the housing, but swapping it is very possible and easy :).

I want to fit a 3/8" hose on it... Maybe hitting it up with a butane torch will do... we'll see.

NO! Do not use a torch you will distroy the housing, simply buy some converters.

DO NOT USE A TORCH ON TUBING!!!!!!
It will burn and release plenty of toxic gases, that you don't want to breathe. It will destroy the tubing as well (duh)
