OK so heres the story. I got the 2GB Flash Voyager GT as a gift on easter. For the last few days its been great.. until today.

I put it in my laptop (IBM Thinkpad A22m) and it gives me these write protected errors. I tried formatting it-no success.

So naturally, I start googling for some similar issues. I came across these issues @ Houseofhelp.. and tried both of the applications on there. The old version of the Flash Voyager utility, and the new. Neither will work on my Thinkpad or this Dell Dimension 4300 I'm on, and since my main rig is down, I can't test on there either.

Both of these things have sub 1 month old XP Home installs w/all updates so that isn't the issue.

The old program (the one that doesn't have the fancy Corsair icon) doesn't detect the drive. The newer one (with the fancy Corsair icon) just doesn't start. I've tried rebooting, compatibility mode, etc. The crappy program won't even start, on BOTH computers.

So I'm at the end of my wits here. Stupid me threw away the packaging (who knew a thumb drive can go bad?) and Corsair's RMA sucks the big %#@ at the moment from what I hear. So is there any way I can get this flipping program working, to see if this things even fixable?

Sorry I'm a bit flustered, but thanks for your help.

Nick

Seems fairly common, at least over @ house of help. Other than the fact that it broke, I loved the thing. It was EXTREMELY fast.

It was EXTREMELY fast.Keep in mind that we are selling LOTS of those and, you are looking at a support forum where most people only report problems. The percentage of defects is VERY VERY low overall.
