Hello I am just curious about the NB strap on my Mo-board. I can run my rig 100% stable at 400mhz FSB, and my RAM at 1000mhz using a 4:5 divider. While playing with the strap option I realized I could set the strap to 800 and my divider to 1:1 and at 400Mhz FSB my OC would still be at 3.6 with my E6600, and only 1067 on my G.Skill HZ. These speeds are absolutely stable but I can't get to windows at all. I can post and then get to where it boot from the HD and I get a damaged system file error. When I reset the Cmos and it will boot right up fine. I set it back to my original OC and it boots up fine. I have tried upping the NB voltage to 1.65  and it still didn't work. Do you have any suggestion for a successful boot, I figured a lower FSB and higher multiplier.

strap 800 wayy to tight for 400fsb, 1066 is the best bet you could get stable on high fsb... 1333 will result in poor performance..

What do you suppose the highest FSB possible for the 800PSB Strap?

Yep. Tough, but I hit 330ish as well.

I have the option to trade my retail E6600 of an E6600 ES. I was thinking that if I did the trade I could raise the multi to 11, lower the FSB to 325, and then drop to the 800NB latency option. What I am wondering is will I get better performance or should I just call it off?

ES CPUs don't have unlocked multies....they are pretty much same as retail
