I just got this RAM in my sig and looked at CPU-Z and it reads it as DDR2 800 maximum. Everest Pro also sees it as DDR2 800. Do these two programs not recognize DDR2 1000? If so, is there a program that will recognize DDR2 1000?

Thanks -Jim

Most likely the RAM's SPD-ROM, which contains all timing and manufacturer information, was intendedly programmed as DDR2 800 only. You have to keep in mind that the board reads the information from the SPD and stes the timings etc. accordingly. The RAM needs to be able to start with these settings at default Vdimm of about 1.8V. Now if the RAM needs more voltage for DDR2 1000 than the default 1.8V, you would have a problem. The board would try to start the RAM at DDR2 1000, but as always, with default VDimm. Conclusion: The RAM just would refuse to start. That's why most high performance RAMs don't have all information programmed into the SPD as officially advertised. I'd say you don't have to worry as long as the RAM works at the advertised specs when set manually.
