Bun-Bun

Ok I have a Striker Extreme, QX6700, and for the time being a single stick of OCZ PC2-6400 1gb. Dominators are backordered and I have a PC2-8500 SLI kit on borrow in the mail.

I just can not seem to get this board to go past 1400 FSB (it bench's at 1400 but I have not done any extensive stress testing at that speed yet)

Right now the CPU is on stock cooling (awaiting replacement reservoir for water cooling) so I just dropped the multiplier to 8 and have been going from there.

So... I have all the advanced CPU features disabled, SLI and Nvidia GPU stuff disabled, SPP<->MCP frequency set to 200 MHz, fsb unlinked with ram at 900MHz 4-4-4-12. Voltages are CPU 1.4, Mem 1.225, HT 1.4, NB 1.45, SB 1.5, VTT 1.35.

setting HT and NB to 1.5 and 1.55 gets it to boot into windows at 1452 fsb but it BSOD's right away. VTT can go to 1.45 but doesnt help. Anything above that and it wont boot at all. 1500 FSB and above weird things happen... like at 1500 the board gets stuck at MP INIT and when I raise voltages it just doesnt post... 1600 is random... 1800 it gets to update DMI and then hangs, raise voltages a bit and then it wont post.

So... is there a trick to it? or do I have a bunk board?

also what is the LDT frequency and SPP<->MCP frequency? I set the SPP<->MCP to 200 just because I saw someone else do it... didn't make a difference as far as I can tell.

For the timebeing I dropped the vcore down to 1.2875 to bring down the temps for this crappy stock cooler... and I am gonna go play oblivion..

Thanks in advance :D
