sounds about right..

x1650XT is the most underrated card I know because of the other damn x1600s being so :banana::banana::banana:ty.

Wow, it' amazing how mis-leading benchmrks can be. Take Supreme Commander. There is no way on gods green earth they get those framerates with a decent sized battle with that FX-60. I have the same CPU, and it crawls to less than 10fps at just 1280x1024, with loads of units on screen and 3 A.I.

Nice, my 7600GT is the worst card in that review. but i wont shell out 600$ for a 8800GTX, which is the only card that is above 30 FPS in all the games they benched :D.

At max settings!

I'd like reviewers to also make comparisons with at reduced visuals, e.g. some
shadows off or reduced, detail level on normal instead of high, etc. It can make
a world of a difference.

Oh and it made me double-think what to buy next. With the 1950Pro @ around
$170 (incl 20% VAT), it might be a better choice than the 8600GT, which will
probably start at $200 around here. Crysis will run on dx9 hw, right?

Of course it will, with reduced visuals of course. I have an X1950pro here, which runs CoD2 1600x1200 max everything. All fine, ~40-50fps. They're good cards, but I'd suggest waiting for the 8600GT as they seem to be outperforming the 7900GTXs :)

Anyone else wonder why they used a 939 chip for these tests instead of a C2D or AM2?

May be some of those benches are brought from old articles and they wanted more like apples to apples

The guesstimates so far say 7900GS<8600GT<7900GT... I'll wait and see
anyway, as I'll also wait for the 6420s to appear and normalize in price, and
the K10 benches to appear. In other words, I'm broke :D

I've always liked XBITLABS' reviews.

EDIT: Now THAT is interesting. Look at how the X1900XT pulls away from a card ahead of it by one generation!

Hmm... now I'm starting to regret having sold my X19. Obviously a symptom of lower memory, but it doesn't happen like this on all games. I love multiple card reviews.

The X19 cards were always so good with the Oblivion engine.

I sure do love my 1900xtx. Good to see my hesitation to pick up a G80 GTS was a good choice. looks like even if I DID get a 640mb it would probably only be equal to my 1900xtx at 1920 X 1200 res.

I'm still in a holding pattern for the card that really can do 1920X1200 45-60FPS in all available games with all settings and AA maxed.

Seems like with ATI you still get more high res performance for your $$

I wonder if R600 will show similar traits..
