Help Me!!!

maxtor 60gb hdd
asus p4t533
256 pc1066 rambus
gef2 gts vid
2.53ghz p4
1.7ghz p4 celery

here is what i have goten to replace and try to build new system but it won't boot..

gigabyte canterwood mobo
epox kt400 mobo
abit is7
gef 4 ti4200
gef2 quadro2
gef2 gts
2100 tbred
2400 tbred
256mb corsair pc3200
256mb mushkin pc3000

any combination of these will NOT boot into my preformatted hdd with win xp - why?????

What system did you format hard drive with? I would say, just build the system you want and reformat the hard drive with that system.

JBell, have you done this before with XP? Seems like I may have read someplace that if you change the hardware configuration too much at one time XP just won't deal with it because of that stupid activation BS...

I'd probably do what TheDude has suggested, just build the computer and then re-install XP fresh.

ok swapped vid and cpu ... running fine... wish I was on canterwood though....

JBELL, Brainstorm is right, it thin windows has been installed on another system and therefore wont boot

phone M$ and they can give you an activation number so itll work with the new hardware
