Well.. it's a good bit better than the stock heatsink. It can probably do the job.

well most people use watercooling or even pelts on their cards...

well we ll see, i had to cut some edges off to be able to mount it on the card but it fits fine. now i only hope it was worth all the effort.

it is! just gets a bit warm, i almost cant feel the heat. max oc is now just 10mhz higher (but the weather haas changed a lot , its now 10°C warmer as my zalman ocing attempts)

need the voltmod :D

You could alwasy mod a fan onto it if it does get too hot aswell!

If I'm not mistakin, this is the Alpha PFH6035 heatsink, right?
If you put a decent 60x60x25mm fan onto it, it'll outperform the stock heatsink by a lot. With a fan installed, it's no need to compare to the stock heatsink as it's a different league they play in. I think, if you would add a little copper plate to the heatsink base, it'd cool even better.

I am not sure how that compares to stock amd and intel coolers, but that is what most people use, and for the most part their gpu's stay completely cool. I am using a stock intel, and oc'd pretty high my gpu is barely warm.
