View Full Version : Memory won't run at rated speed. Direct RMA to G.Skill or to the egg?

I bought a 512MB PC3200 stick of G.Skill RAM, model F1-3200PHU1-512NT back in April of 2006. It never worked at its rated speed from the day I got it, so it wasn't usable in the system I was building for a customer. However it runs fine at PC2100 speeds, so I swapped my brother for his RAM (he has an old athlon T-bird based system) and it has been working fine since then at the lower speed.

However he may be upgrading soon, so I need to RMA the stick so he can run the memory at full speed. Should I RMA the memory directly through G.Skill or go through Newegg? I figure if going through newegg would be the better choice I need to do it before April, otherwise after that I'll need to go direct to G.Skill.

Newegg link for the RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231029)

Thanks.
