Looks like the fake results are creeping back in.... note the mobo and fsb...

Man I hate that :banana::banana::banana:, these fake scores push my hard earned 8500 score down the charts. It is impossible to get a score like that with his set-up I can barely break 11,000 with a well tweaked system.

I get 9200 on the KX7-333 Radeon 8500 and 1900+. Definately a fake.

on a K7S5A? those are definnitely fake. BTW, i managed to find the tool that people are now using to fake scores. One guy had it in his comments. Not too smart...

I wouldn't know.... well from the project browser he has quite a lead over other people with similar specs.... 1500 points or so... hmmm sumfing fishy is going on

Well looking at others on the ORB, his score is comparable to 1.9GHz XP's.... looks like a good hack job there... infact his score is only a couple hundred points behind one of DDTUNG's (CPU @ 2014MHz compared to 1406?!?!?)

personally i think its real, on 3dmark it shows me as having a slower Cpu Speed at times and also it shows 0 FSB when i actually have 190+ so im sure it can be real just reported wrong due to 3dmark

The fsb for the K7S5A reads incorrectly on madonion 3dmark.
I used to have one and 66 FSB was always a topic of discussion in ECS threads.
I am wondering how they got those scores on 1400 MHz, saying it is not overclocked? That Armand is one heck of a tweaker.

Maybe it is those new Catalyst drivers?
;) :D ;) :D

Gentlemen:

I will state this for the very last time.

I have no idea which would possibly explain the sudden surge in scores after loading the first leaked 71 drivers for XP. My scores previously marked in the upper 6XXX range to upper 7XXX range.
Imagine my surprise when it happened. I literally fell out of my chair!

Again, (and again), there clearly is a bug in 3DM that allowed these drivers to post fake results. Important (and I've posted this before in other forums.): I never noticed an increase in FPS during the tests. What I did notice, though, was that the test ,overall, ran unusually fast. Reason for the weird scores, maybe? To make you all breathe a sigh of relief, after loading the latest Omega drivers, based on the latest 6102's, my score in 3DMark is 76XX. Satisfied now?

While I consider myself a very good Network Admin with a decent background and abilities, I assure you all that I'm not versed enough in programming to produce this kind of fakery.... and wouldn't if I could.

Honest.

Now, will someone with knowledge in this area please present a viable answer to this anomaly? It would be very much appreciated and go far to end the stream of emails I'm getting. (Gezz, guys, todays my birthday, FCOL!)

Understand that I posted these numbers originally to show the potential problems with benchmarks and made my best attempt to convey that fact. Thanks.

Wow! Interesting how these off-the-chart scores seem to have one thing in common: ECS K7S5A mobo's. If these mobo's incorrectly report FSB speeds, (66), then why not bloated benchmark scores?

Sorry for calling u a hacker.... the scores didn't seem unreasonable (unrealistic) but looked pretty sus when you looked at the CPU speed that was written there
:toast:
Thanks for clearing it up.... we have something to keep our eyes peeled for in future

Lol, good to know you're being calm about it ;). I wish I could get a score that high :D.

"I wish I could get a score that high.."

Even if it was bogus? Like I stated, the FPS never increased, but the bench ran faster and finished sooner. Why? I dunno.

Btw, finally got my hands on Max Payne. Runs at about 60 FPS with Af16 and AA2. Is that exceptional or just average for this card?

I would want it to be a legitimate score, but I still wish it was that high :D. Best of luck with your tweakage.

Well my current score is around 76XX with the latest Omega's, but the visuals, stability and smoothness of games is the best it's ever been. Well worth giving up the noteriety of "The Radeon With the 11200 3DMark" legacy. In fact, SS 2nd Ed used to crash (infinite loop) occasionally. Not with the Omega's.

Welcome and thanks for having the balls to come on on yer Bday and explain , I also have noticed the wackyness with ecs mobos but it seems like not all do it must be a bios-gpu-os bug...
now this new #1 cheater has zero freaking class, I also emailed the onions
