Use this one for the V-core.
Just pin 7.

The 6301 is up top left next to the socket.

btw, is the VMEM possible on me IT7 (as it controls AGP too, handy for OC'ing me GF :D)

ctgilles,

The memory voltage goes to 3.2 on this mobo allready.

Hi ctgilles

also some bios here:

http://www.n3dt.com/bios/main.html

OPP:

my IT7 only shows 2.99-3.02 when the volt in bios is set to 3.2 V
I agree with you this board need som good ram.
I can go to 225 Mhz 3431/3442 stabil with corsair 400 DDR v 1.1
a little more volt will help I think.

Funny,

Just got the corsair 400c2 v 2.1
They kan go 232 Mhz but the volt need to bee 2.9 ?
at 3.0 its only 228, same at 2.8 V
I thange the alu-headspreder to cupper it gave 234 unstable.

The Mem are still the problem, going at 181 mhz (P4 2.533) 3/4 the ram have to do 242.

Any clues on how to get the 3.2V from this board? After 2.9 mine only shows 2.96-2.94 no matter what I set it too.

Same chong, mine only goes to 2.9 even when on 3.2 :( I think OP mentioned he couldnt find any vdimm mods for this board?

Im prob going to do the vcore cos my board undervolts to about 1.77 on load when at 1.85 in bios :(

Chong345
09-08-2002, 02:36 AM
Well, I tweaked my PSU a little bit and I get a little higher voltage on the vdimm. I dunno though. Its now at 3V and won't go any higher no matter what. :(

What do you mean tweak bud?

I have a 430watt Antec TruPower here and dont know anything bout tweaking PSUs :D

hehehe

I just upped my 5 and 12 and then the vdimm got better.

Does anyone know if the BIOS will work for the IT7 MAXII?
Currently the IT7 II only allows for 2.8v, thought about vMod but if the BIOS works I might try that first.

Does the NW pin mod work ok for the IT7 Max2, I'm assuming it will?

The original 8H bios provides a 3.2 Vmem. It's available at Abit.

Hardware limitations on the Vmem. JC and I worked on a Vmem mod, it works, but max Vmem is 3.04V. The controller IC is speced
up to 3.5V, so something else is limiting it. The MOSFET that drives Vmem feeds off of the 5V line, that's why Chong managed to squeeze out a little more.

Thats right. I max out right at 3.07-3.04. Oh well. thats still not bad. :D

Hi Ddtung,

Is the MemVoltmod on IT7Max the pin3 on one of the 2 chip with 16 pins? in the corner... :help:

We need your expertise, to get more mem-volt out of the Abit IT7Max.

The mem speed at low (3.04volt) is the limit ;) ;) ;)

238 is limiting my FSB at 178. The P4 3Ghz come this month, and we are puching 4Ghz.

My Winbond 4.5 can go close to 250 at 3.3 volt

Look at my Vmem......with the ABIT IT7-Max2 Mobo I'm working now(for the time been)..... ;)

This AGP Vmod is for ABIT IT7-Max2 Mobo and for every other Mobo that has the chip LM324 for Vagp....

Now....This is an AGP Vmod......If you solder a 1,5Kohms resistor on the "upper" side of R164(near to pin one of LM324 chip) and the "lower" side of R160 then you get 1,74 Vagp.....If you solder in parallel with this one(1,5Kohms) another one 2,2Kohms you get 1,85Vagp.....

......And this is for Vmem Mod on the same Mobo with a 10 turns trimmer of 20Kohms.....We put into bios the Vmem to be 2,8Volts and we reboot WITHOUT the Memory module instaled....We see the Vmem on one pin of the big Mosfet near the memchip.....Then we SHUT DOWN and we solder one tiny cable on the two sides of R101(in parallel)....Accualy it's not R101 resistor but it's the number that is written below to her....Not to do something wrong,it's the resistor witch is on the left of a small smd capasitor and below of an electrolytic capacitor......The Mosfet we take the readind for the Vmem is the one of the right in my photo......After the succesfull Modding we turn the trimmer to see the maximum Vmem we can and we leave it there.....If we do not see any changes when we change the Vmem from bios it will be because we have turn the trimmer TOO MUCH.....WE LEAVE THE TRIMMER TO THE MAXIMUM WE SEE and that's it....

For any questions just PM me.....

Enjoy and BE CAREFULL when you are Modding.....

Sorry about my English....

we solder one tiny cable on the two sides of R101(in parallel)....Accualy it's not R101 resistor but it's the number that is written below to her....Not to do something wrong,it's the resistor witch is on the left of a small smd capasitor and below of an electrolytic capacitor

there are 6 small "resistors". Is it parallel on nr 1 (from left on picture) or nr 2 (thats called 110 on mine). ??

:flame:

I don't want to fry anysing, just got my rev2

Well...it's the SECOND of the left resistor......The third one isn't a resitor,it's a capasitor(SMD-brown)....It's the one you have checked with "110"....:toast:

All ABIT IT7 mobos supports the Vmem bios mod (done wuth MODBIN6) to extract the 2.9v to 3.2v voltages selections.

See this (http://www.phantompunisher.netfirms.com/) site fof already modded bios. They are up to date, and they have more mods that the simple Vmem one. :)

P.S.: Does any one know if the ABIT BD7-II and BE7 mobos support some Vmem bios mod like the one for the IT7??

Now you can get 3.5+ out to the ram...

http://www.phantompunisher.netfirms.com/it7_vmem_voltage_mod.htm

1. mod the powersuppl. the 3.3 line raised to 3.4- 3.5 V

2. mod the bios (3.2 version)

3. run a jumper from one end of the diode to the other that will give the full 3.3 to the mosfet and keep the capacitor in the circuit.

4. put a 20K regulator to the nr. 2 resistor. Use this contraption to jumper across the surface mount resister

5. Make sure the cooling is ok on the Ram (heatsink, fanns, watercooling, peltier etc etc..

i think you guys are crazy going for higher than 3.3
first off you probly wont see any improvments over 3.3 volts as you are going to raise the time needed for the switches to occur in the memory. so your speed will theoriticaly suffer the higher you go and 3.3 is already very far from the default 2.5

second that 3.3 rail is used all over the board. the fan5063 for instance, that controls the vmem is only spec'ed to 3.465 volts max on its incoming 3.3 line.

show those boards no mercy, but have some cash handy if you do;)

yea haw 10 posts now! i can have a avatar

The default on highend DDR ram are not 2.5 V. They recommend 2.8-3.1 V. Your right, over 3.3 V is Extreeme, but We are Extreeme.
To Tweeak and Bench the last Hz out of the Ram/CPR/MB We need the 3.4x Volt
Many can go over 2.0 Volt on the MOB to CO their P4 and find out that 1.85-1.90 is the best.
The same with DDR ram we have to try, to get the best results.
