EK-FCX1900 Vreg Question

I am getting a good deal on one of these and am going to replace the cracked plexi top out for a delrin top. I was doing some research on them and read that there is a gap between the vreg plate and the vregs unless you use the stock thermal pad strip given with the x1900, is this true? I got rid of my strip and sanded down the heatsink and slapped some ceramique on them.

If you do need a pad, would anyone recommend these (http://www.petrastechshop.com/ekrevoretimp.html)?

I will need to get a replacement screw that mounts the block to the card, does anyone know the size of them?
