With only a swiftech mx462 air, what is the highest voltage that you guys would reccommend using for the 2200 without making too much heat the probem?

Hi Xg

Well try it out some different voltages, and use a software prog to monitor your temps in Windoze, that way U can see when your temps are beginning to be at max. Hope this helps U some :)

Boy...I tell ya...the small surface area on these thoroughbreds radiates some intense heat...even my -35c chiller can only get my cpu to -5c or so..as compared to my AGOIA 1700+ which at the same 1.95V was running -10c at idle. I'd guess probably 1.8 to 1.85v would be tops on air and not jeopardizing anything....but please play it by ear..adjust it up only as needed and monitor your temps closely with Motherboard Monitor or an equivilant.:)

thanks, I think I only have it at 1.7 or 1.75 and it is a s hot as my 2100 at 1.85 or 1.9 so maybe for us air guys something like this http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/articles.hwz?cid=18&aid=446&page=6 - will eventually help.

My 2200+ with volcano9 and Artic Silver 3 without oc is already at 71°C at idle :(

That's cooking, I have a Swiftech MX462 and under heavy load have not topped 48C, and I am OC @ 1930. I ordered a Tornado 84CFM fan to see if I can drop those temps to get some more clock speed and still be able to sleep. What kind of case temps do you have, 71 sounds unhealthy to me.

My mobo is at 40°C it's a gigabyte GA-7VRXP.
I also touched the fan on heavy load it didn't seem very hot in my opinion. On the other hand i know that my mobo sensor are ok.
I'll soon receive a new termalright vx7 with a 80mm on it .. wait and see.

I was sure you'll ask and shame on me : problem was that i plugged my fan in the wrong side.
Curiously i could plug it without any "visible" difference, but after plugging it in the correct side i lost 20°C so now i'm really at 1800Mhz and my temp is around 49°C at idle and around 53 fully loaded.

I seem to hover bewteen 50-60 degrees, (and that is wit the SLK-800 and Delta80) but all is stable, so I guess the 200 can take more heat than the XP.

they sure do pump some heat ... mine is at 22 idle and 24.5 stressed at 2100mhz 1.775v thats with 156w pelt and 18deg C water only got it yesterday so it aint burned in yet gonna ease it up with some colder water in next few days

I'm now at 35°C on my CPU and 37° on mobo with the Thermalright ax 7 ...

what do you mean you pluged it in on the wrong side? my 2200 with the thermaltake v7+ and Actic silver 3 is running at 51 normal and 56 under load seems to hot to me .

majormav how much was your water cooling setup
