Hi i have recently bought this ram http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=14504&vpn=OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology
But i have already have a corsair xms kit(2*512 2-2-2-5)
the question is...Should i keep my "old" corsair or just put the new ram?
Will i have too change something in my bios?
thx for your precious time:toast:

Hello, your english is as good as mine.

In the DFI boards the memory must be the same or the system will not boot. You should remove the 2 x 512mb kit and just run the 2 x 1gb kit.

You can try to run all 4 memory sticks if you like. You must boot with 1 kit and then set CPC to OFF in BIOS and shut down the system. Now you can installl the 2nd kit. If the computer does not run, then remove the 2nd kit and run the 2 x 1gb kit only.

You can always sell your 2 x 512mb kit and buy a matching 2 x 1gb kit if you want to run more memory.

The DFI BIOS is very picky about using mis-matched memory. I would say you have a 5% chance (or less) that this will work, You have to try to know for sure.

A long as you are running Windows XP, the 2gb should be great for you. In Vista, 2gb is OK and more memory would be better if you are doing heavy gaming or running mutiple applications.

We like the 704-BTA BIOS the best. Do Google search and you should find it.

I found the same BIOS with a slighty different name. Try using the yellow slots with this one:

704-2BTA (http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/other/114/3)
