I know BH5/6 was the cream of the crop for DDR, but was there a Micron, or non-micron equivalent for SDRAM? High FSB with extremely low latencies on SDRAM?

Who makes the best SDRAM chips? Micron, Hynix, Infineon, etc?

Thanks fellas! :D

got a set of 256mb 6ns SDRAM sticks, forget their make though. Tested to 175mhz cas2 at 3.6v or so.. tried more (4.0v) but the board (KT7A-RAID) wouldnt bench more than 175 and wasnt stable over 166 really..

edit - brand is SEITEC.

Try to find dimms using Micron -7E ICs that are rated to 133 at cas2. They overclock well like over 160mhz and up.

i used to use seimens in my old systems from what i remember they handled over clocking well. took a k6-2 266 to a 333 with no problems. (although 6 months later the psu did catch fire)

dont know about timings though

Pretty sure HYNIX made some nice stuff that could do 2-2-2-5 @160MHz+
I am after some myslef so I can take my celeron 1.1A up near 2GHz! :)

I had 256Mb PC133 Hynix stick. Good old Duron days, my first steps in overclocking.
Afaik my stick could do ~145Mhz@CL2, but its long gone.

DIMMs with Mosel Vitalic ICs, like the Mushkin PC150 2.0-2-2 stuff had. But teh best was the MDT/MCI PC150 2.0-2-2 from a a german manufacture, but don't know which ICs they used at this time. A german pc-magazin, called c't, did some tests years ago, with all the best SDRAM aviable. MCI reached crazy 205MHz 2.0-2-2, while the second best sticks failed at about 180MHz(*).

(*Imho it was the Muskin/Mosel Vitalic)

I used Infineon 2x 256 mb pc133 cl2. I could run 160 with 2-2-2-5 on kt7a-raid easily without raising vdimm much higher (I donīt know exactly, I think it was +0,1 volt).

I have a stick of 128mb hynix pc133, but that tops out at about 145 mhz too.. same as my kingmax stick... I guess ill have to go looking for some of that micron, they seem to be able to do 160 fairly consistently :D
