I have begun to get random C1 post errors when booting up my pc. I am using Corsair XMS2 Dominator PC8888 RAM, 2GB. Anyone have any experience with type of problem?

You're not the first one!

I'm now running an RMA'ed set of 8888 Dominators on an Asus Commando. Get rid of that 680i or get a different board and RMA the 680i when they finally fix the issue.

Have you made sure to set all the proper ram timings and voltages.

Yes all the timings and voltages are correct. Also now getting 1d post errors to go along with the frequent C1 post error.

Which bios you running?

P24 I believe. Are there any 680i boards that are not having problems like this EVGA?
Also, after reading the above link, am I correct in saying most of the problems relate to RAM that requires 2.4V or higher?
I'm thinking of trying some Corsair Dominator XMS2 PC6400 CAS 4 RAM (2.1V) at stock speeds before I abandon the EVGA board. I'm currently running the PC8888 version.......

Update: Flashed to P25 bios, and underclocked my PC8888 down to 800Mhz at 2.1V. Been gaming for a couple hours straight, no problems.
Gonna leave it there for a while, I've been without my baby for a couple days, time to work on my BHD stats. Thanks for the help folks.

Update: Now I am having to run them at 800 and CAS 5 to be able to boot. Wondering what to do next...

Run Memtest on each DIMM individually and see if a module is failing. Let me know the results.

Do I need to change RAM settings for memtest? I've never used it before, or is it like ATiTool, and will change it automatically.....

Set the RAM timings and voltage manually to the tested spex. Memtest is just a DOS based memory test that runs automagically from a bootable disk. Try each DIMM individually for 5-10 passes each.

Anyone have a current link to memtest? The one I had bookmarked is dead.

www.memtest.org usually works.

Okay, bios won't save the settings manually entered, everthing reverts back to optimal 5-5-5-18.

prolly your memory taking a crap. High end D9 has been doing that lately

Go ahead and try Memtest at those settings and see what happens. Make sure you have 2.4v set for Vdimm. Also, what bios are you running on the EVGA? And, can you try replacing your CMOS battery.

Running P25 bios. Any recommendation on where to look locally for a CMOS battery?

Also I marked my sticks, when I get a C1 error, I have to boot off stick #1, then shutdown and install stick #2. If I try and boot with only #2, C1 errors nonstop.

Just for an update, I ended up RMA'ing these DIMMs. Corsair recieved them on March 13th, still waiting for the replacements. I've tried calling their customer service number, and posting on their support forums.
So far the whole process has been a big run around.

its the GOD DAMN MOTHERBOARD not the memory. It may or may not have actually damaged the memory but what it will do is damage the slots and make them unusuable for any memory to post. If you swap the memory around you will maybe find that each stick individually works fine but not together. As far as i know there is no known fix. I have tried EVERYthing. Rma the board and send it back to evga or hell or whereever it came from. Hopefully you will get one that works. Lie and tell them you have a quad core cpu or are getting one and they will give you a link that will let you do a free advanced rma for your motherboard.

I RMA'ed the motherboard at the same time as the RAM, didn't have to lie though, newegg gave me a refund. Now, need to contact them again, because I really am thinking of going to a quad.:stick:

well just saying i dont think you should have to pay for someones manufacturing mistake. I didnt really lie either because i may go quad sometime but im certainly not paying any more shipping costs. either way just trying to help you.

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time, sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
