Asus P5WDH Deluxe bios 1602
cpu E6600 at 3.6 (400 X 9) 24 hrs stable

currently I have to set memory 1:1 ddr2 800 , Timing 4-4-4-7, no problem, memtest86 stable 100%

But I want to use divider 4:5 , ddr2 1000 , It can't boot , continous beep, Timing is 5-5-5-15 2T , 2.2V

Does this mean I got a bad pair of Corsair can't run as stated specifications. What can I do , Help please greatly appreatiated

The 975 chipset MOBOs in general are not running the dividers well, especially above 400mhz. This is typical of the MOBO. I would suggest OCing at a 1:1 ratio on that board.

get a 680i to get everything from these sticks or what?

The 8500's arent rated for DDR2 1200. You would be extremely lucky to get that, the 8888's and 9136 are the only ones you could think of getting their with little to no work.

As for the 975, the FSB caps out at around 450 and starts to become unstable somewhere around 420-430, although its very rare you see someone get 400+ stable.

The divider to goto 4:5 in your case DDR2 1000 is tricky on the 975, not to mention 975 gets its best performance on 1:1 which would be ddr2 800.

Tighten the timings down as best you can because with the 975 I have (BX2) 3-3-3-8 DDR2 800 pounds DDR2 1000 4-4-4-10. Higher clocks on the 975 arent necessarily as good as the 965 based boards. Seems to respond better to tighter timings.

C2D also worries less about bandwidth. Good tight 800 timings might serve better.

The best timing I get stable for 1:1 ddr800 is 4,4,4,7. Anything lower will fail memtest86.

How about 965 chipset ? best performance settings^?

Higher mhz with good timings at 4:5 performs the best on 965 from my experience. Try and tighten that 5-5-5-15 a bit and see what you can come up with. If its stable congrats solid little setup you got there.

Hi all

I have a commando with bios 902 and replaced OCZ 8800 by corsair 9136 and still stay under 1000mhz because after it"s impossible to be stable.
I see also that MB boot and 30sec after it reboot alone..When i have istalled this MB the first time, it worked better, with xms 8500 was stable a 1150 and now all fails.....boring. Tested again xms, tested 702 bios..nothing. CPU is X6800 and differents voltages have been tested but nothing better....
