What would be the best CPU block for an Intel C2D X6800? Was thinking Apogee GT, Fuzion or Storm Rev. 2.

I usually overclock to around 3.6-3.9, if that will make a difference.
Ambient room temps stay around 22C.

Loop: Reservoir(dual 5" bay)>pump(Eheim 1250)>radiator(Thermochill PA120.3)>CPU(Storm)>NB(MCW30)>SB(MCW30)>EK8800GTX>EK8800GTX>Reservoir

For a standard dual core single die cpu, like the X6800, I would think that the waterblock champion is still the Storm G4 Rev 2, obviously second to the Little River Storm G5.

I would think that the hoopla about FuZion versus Apogee GT only applies to the current two die quad core Kenstfield.

Are those two Storm's available to the masses though? Was thinking more along the lines of retail.
Maybe also keep in mind, I would like to move to Kentsfield in a year or so.

The Storm Rev 1 is harder to find. The Storm Rev 2 is discontinued but is still sold. The Little River Silver Storm G5 is almost impossible. You may have to sacrifice your first two newborns for that silver block.

In a year, the quad core architecture will be different. There probably won't be the current two die quad core structure. The unified die quad core will probably look like the current dual core, but nothing is assured. Unless the IHS changes drastically, the Storm Rev 2 would probably be as good if not better than an Apogee GT.

I myself use an Apogee GT because I use the current quad core. I use Storm Rev 2 and FuZions for everything else. Your mileage may vary.

Good to know, 'cause that's what I already have, but I'm always looking for something better. I'm seeing around 36C idle and 42C at load with it running at 3.6Ghz. Thanks for your help.

Your temps are embarrassing my temps lol How did you get such a fabulous load temp?!? Granted you are loading two cores and I'm loading four. Rest assured that your Storm Rev 2 is kicking some @$$

i just ordered a Fuzion block to test against my Storm rev1 on my E6600 @ 3.6Ghz. I'll post results when it comes in which should be Friday.
