Hi All,

Ive just bought the 'MSI Master 2 FAR' dual opteron board with 2opty 250's and 2gb ram but i was wondering if you *have* to plug in the 8-pin and the 4-pin power to this board? or can you 'get away' with using just the 4-pin?

Best way to find out is to try this ;)

No worries, if mobo need both 4 and 8-pin connectors it won't star with only one of these.

BTW nice RIG you have...

I have that board..You need the 8 pin, you need them all.
Good Luck with it.
Flakiest board I ever worked with.

Mine didn't have a 4-8 pin.Get a good EPS12 PSU that has all the right connectors. I have the factory HS on it.
Remember that this board uses a P4 mount not an AMD..
Like I said, flaky board. Doesn't OC at all, stable at stock speeds.
I just have one 266 in it..Yes, 266 not 265..a ES of the 275..2200mhz.
