I'm planning to buy new 1.6a+DDR based sy, i have some questions:

1. Which mobo will be the best (for OC, i don't need features) in your opinion? except the BD7-II.

2. Which DDR should i get (not samsung, the only ver in my area is the DTL)? i thought about XtremeDDR\corsair\Mushkin- what do you think?

3. Which HS will the best choice? i have option to get the AX478 or the new CoolerMaster (with the Heatpipe).

thanks for helping.

1. why not the BD7 II, seems to be a good board. Otherwise, the 4bda is good too, I have it myself.
2. Corsair then.
3. They look OK, the Alpha 8942 is very good too.

I think you should buy rambus!
I got ddr before rambus and i used my pc266 samsung @200mhz

Here are the benchmarks (http://mitglied.lycos.de/coolzero2k1/Meiner/sandra_bench_2.jpg)

But now i got an Abit Th7-2 with pc800@1050 and that roxx!

Here are the benchmarks (http://www.inteloverclocking.de/Coolzero2k1/sandra.jpg)

So you see ddr is very fast if you are clocking it, but if you are clocking rambus, it kicks ass!

I thought about the TH7-II with Samsung 40ns RDR..but someone told me that the Abit doesn't work well (when you get it) with the 1.6A (doesn't post) and only after bios update it works, is it true? i don't have any other northwood.. :P

BTW- what cooling do you have for the CPU\MEM?

BTW#2- is there any chance that i will get the abit with the CYP chips?

I didn't hear about something like this! I got my abit th 7 2, putted my 1.6 in it and it posted! It could be that the old revisisions had problems with northwoods but i don't know!

BTW: I got a watercooler, but it is a selfmade one and it does not cool very well for a watercooler! I will get a new set from my sponsor ( www.multimediashop.com a German Online Shop) and the test will be found at www.inteloverclocking.de my german Inteloverclocking site, which is offline currently!

btw2: CYP Chips????

BTW#: do you have special cooling for your memory? for the CPU i will put AX478 or the new CoolerMaster HeatPipe (Do you have any idea wich is better?

About the CYP, there are two rev's of the board with differnt DRCG's one is with the ICS which can clock high, the other is with CYP wich is pure :banana::banana::banana:..

I don't know the ax478 from which manufactor is it? I heared that the coolermaster is not bad whit the original "silent" fan, but with a delta i think the cooler is very good!

A friend of mine, from a german forum, is selling th 7 2 kombo's and he changed the bad ic's, with the newer ones, but he said to me that he didn't found any change!

I'm cooling my ram with an 80mm fan @ 5V!
