Folks,

got the board in finally and will be hitting it hard this weekend (mild overclocking, Opteron compat. testing with CURRENT run opteron 2218s)

got some basic pictures available here:

enjoy...and comments/suggestions welcome for testing.

Nice :)
what cooling will you be using?
I would like to see your overclocking results with the fx-70's

right now, some really bog-standard AVC heatpipe coolers...this will allow me to catch t-max on these CPUs to see where the nominal ceiling is.

additionally, they're compatible with Socket F. :)

i'll prolly be moving over to 9500s or other coolers afterward. my big project (sponsored by my AMD channel rep) is to see if current Opteron 2000s will work with NO issue on the board. :)

Please let is know if your mobo runs hot. It may be just me, but the mosfets on the board seem to be running unusually warm...I'll take temps with a probe later...thanks.

hey guys...

alrighty, got everything booted just fine. some issues with the network controllers (which is why i won't have CPUID shots until later today).

S7, this board runs VERY hot....i mean, wtf?

anyhow, i've got some BIOS screenies showing that 2218s are indeed installed (fyi, the board won't post if the wrong procs or reg/ecc memory is installed. :) )

initial pics can be found here (http://picasaweb.google.com/opteron.delivery/Opteron2218OnAsusL1N64SLI)

CPU-Z shots are coming!

lol....

memory used is: TXDD1024M667C3DC-M from Team Extreem.

as for why only 512mb is showing up....user error. evidently the board has a unified memory bank.
