Ok, I took my HIS x1800gto IceQ3 video card apart to put some arctic silver 5 on the gpu and decided to put it on the ram as well. Now the thing is the heatsink that goes over the ram touches all the ram sticks so should I worry about this bridging (the part of the ram it touches is plastic)?
The ram originally had thermal tape stuff on it and i think they might of been there to prevent that. Does anyone know if that could be what it was for.
Also would it be ok to put the thermal pads back on over the AS5? I can't get the heatsink to touch the ram so I either need to do that or grind down the risers so it would touch.
