Requirement will be 700mhz CPU and GFX capable of running DX6.
(2ghz with a GeForce4 recommended though..)

im affraid we wont see a demo for some time, the realse date is september afaik, and they wont release a demo so many weeks before the game will hit the streets

All I can say is "suckers!" Ok, I was at E3 this year. I tried to get into the HL2 booth, but...it was a 4 hour wait. I did get to dink around a little bit with a technology demo they had outside of the booth. It was cool. This was all on the 9800 pro because ATI was hosting the booth. I can't wait for this one.

What else looked good on E3 ? How was DOOM3 in comparison?

All they had for Doom 3 was a video. There wasn't a booth or anything, just a tv playing a video. It did look better than the version people saw at quakecon last year. Compared to half-life 2, Doom 3 looks better graphically but HL2 will be better because it is story driven.

HL2 is a given buy offcouse and i'll probably get DooM aswell just for fun

Yeah, the beta that was leaked last year scared the crap out of me. I couldn't play for long with needing a bathroom break. That is how scary the game will be.

you need bittorrent http://www4.aixgaming.com/media/bittorrent-3.2.1.exe if I remember correctly it include a codec aswell, they don't have the same movies as before though so I'm not sure.

Maybe it's .mov files you are trying to watch? in that case you'll need quicktime

I watched the HL2 trailer.. man does that look so sweet. I think DOOM III will have better graphics, but the HL2 will have more versatility to the engine from the looks of it. Sorry to all the xbox fans, but these games make halo 2 look like mario :p:

I don't know if I would go that far terroh8er. I watched the Halo 2 demo at E3. It has some pretty impressive changes made to it over the first Halo.

no, i dont like halo either. the water.. all tzhose weird colours... really has some mario thing in it. and the graphics are bad... it looks ok on an xbox, but thats with loooow resolution.

why do you think it wont run good? it ran great on a 3000+ nf2 system with radeon 9800 pro, itll run ok on any oced geforce 4 system and higher.

HL2 is designed to accomidate your system. It may have to turn down the detail a little, but you can run it on just about any old p3 as long as you have a geforce 4 card or higher and you can pick those up for $100 or less.

Not sure what the hell is going in CS...seems like I have been playing v1.5 for years and 1.6 will never come.

There are already some mod groups that are converting their current projects for half-life over to half-life 2. I believe you will eventually see a CS conversion to the new engine, but it will take a while. On a side note, version 1.6 won't come out until Condition Zero does, or so I understand.

i hate to break it to you guys, but half life 2 is coming out at the END of september. which means you'll have a whole month to be tortured. heh i forgot when doom3 is coming out. can someone tell me again?

Doom 3 comes out sometime after Half-life 2 does. I think in October or November unless id pushes the date back. Carmack said that the game will be done when they feel it is done.

ill get both games aynway, why should i get only one? those are the best 2 games in the last 2 years! i still think hl2 will outsell doom3 by 10x!
