A while back I built this system for a friend:

Enermax EG465P-VEFCA 450W
ABIT NF7-S rev2 - Sempron 3000+
2 x 512 F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX (g. skill) PC3200
PNY 6800GT - Turtle Beach “Santa Cruz”
ASUS 52X CD-ROM - TDK Indi DVD+880 DVD+RW
80Gb Maxtor DiamondMax9 7200 IDE
160Gb Maxtor DiamondMax9 7200 IDE
160Gb Maxtor DiamondMax9 7200 SATA

Now the owner is considering going to a total of 2GB for memory. So is there a 1 GB stick that can be added and not totally destroy what we've got for an OC?

I believe the board will allow this and still "act" like DDR.

OR

Is there a 2 x 1024 "pair" available that won't "break" his bank (he is looking to upgrade his gpu also)?

Just found this over at newegg, F1-3200PHU1-1GBNS (1GB x 1) 2.5-3-3-6 >> that is the settings I'm running the 2 x 512. Could this be the answer? :D

Hope this doen't come out as a "double" thread!:slap:

i heard some motherboards will do 3 sticks as dual channel. Yeah.... i wasn't believe it either.
however, i am not sure your motherboard will do the same. i hope it will but i can;t guarantee it. you need to ask this question to ABit

Thanks >. got that question out to abit, but is the F1-3200PHU1-1GBNS the one to use if they say I can do three slots?

it they say yes, then probably is ok
but you need to also make sure their dual channel is 1+2 with 3 which is your current setup as 512 + 512 with 1GB dual channel

Have received word that the answer is yes to both, however just found this F1-3200PHU1-1GBZX which I guess is the 1GB version of F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX and my better choice?
